FUJIFILM launched GFX 100 Mirrorless camera & Premista series cinema zoom lenses
FUJIFILM India unveils the World's first mirrorless large-format sensor camera, GFX 100, along with the new FUJINON "Premista" series cinema zoom lenses. The Fujifilm GFX 100 is said to be the industry's first large format sensor camera with world's highest 102 Megapixels resolution. The camera offers fast & accurate autofocus, in-body image stabilization and 4K video recording capabilities. The GFX 100 camera features a unique color reproduction technology to achieve the world-leading image quality.
The launch event was held at Mumbai, and was graced by various dignities including Mr. Haruto Iwata, Managing Director, Fujifilm India Pvt Ltd. Other attendees were Celebrity & fashion photographer Mr. Dabboo Ratnani, Commercial & Corporate photographer Mr. Zack Arias.

The GFX 100 is a flagship model of the Fujifilm GFX series of mirrorless digital cameras, it uses a large image sensor boasting approximately 1.7 times the size of the 35 mm full-frame sensor. The GFX series image sensor has a diagonal length of about 55 mm (43.8 mm X 32.9 mm) and is approximately 1.7 times bigger than a 35 mm full-frame format. Among other digital cameras with large image sensor, the GFX 100 is also the first model that offers;
- Back-illuminated sensor with Phase Detection pixels.
- In-body image stabilization (IBIS) mechanism.
- 4K/30P video recording capability.
- 102 Megapixel resolution.
The Fujifilm GFX 100 large-format mirrorless digital camera will be available in India and is priced at Rs.7,86,999 INR.
At the launch event, Mr. Haruto Iwata, Managing Director, Fujifilm India Pvt Ltd, said;

These zoom lenses support large-format sensors and deliver high resolution, beautiful bokeh and rich gradation with HDR. The Premista series brings out the maximum capability of large format sensors. This type of large format sensors are increasingly being adopted into cinema camera. The Premista series lenses launched were;
- Premista 28-100mm T2.9
- Premista 80-250mm T2.9-3.5
Commenting on the launch of the new FUJINON "Premista" series cinema zoom lenses, Cinematographer Mr.Palash Das said,
“I was recently honoured to shoot on the Premista 28-100mm large format zoom lens. The lens is indeed a breakthrough with crisper images and proper focal length coverage throughout the zoom range. It has a beautiful flare to it and the bokeh effect is also quite wonderful. The Premista 28-100 mm T2.9 cinema zoom lens will be available in India from August 2005 at a price of USD $38,800 (approx Rs.26,71,031 INR) and the Premista 80-250 mm T2.9-3.5 will be available later this year at a price of USD $39,800 (approx Rs.27,39,872 INR). The above pricing is for international market, the pricing for Indian market was not announced at the launch event.
