Brainwavz M3 In-Ear Headphones Review: Balanced Sound with Unique Design
A few weeks ago, we published the review of Brainwavz M2 In-Ear Headphones on this blog and soon after that Brainwavz launched their M3 Earphones in India, we even covered the launch article here, but I was very keen to review them. Somehow I managed to get my hands on them within a few days of their launch, and today I'll be reviewing them here. In the past, I've tried Brainwavz M2 & Brainwavz BLU-200 earphones and reviewed them here, I'm really impressed with the quality & performance of Brainwavz products. Brainwavz M3 has been around for a while and recently entered the Indian market.
If you want to know the procedure I follow to test the earphones, you can refer to the below paragraph, it contains all the details.
Unboxing
The retail box of Brainwavz M3 earphones is very similar to the box of Brainwavz M2, the only difference being the color, which in this case was red. The information mentioned on the box was quite similar to that on M2's box, but I was expecting improved performance & comfort. The contents of the box were packed in a similar way, as they were on the M2. There was a nice Hard Carrying Case similar to the M2 and other premium Brainwavz earphones. The box further contained Brainwavz M3 earphones, Six pairs of Silicone Ear Tips including a pair of Bi-Flange Ear Tips, a pair of Comply Foam Tips, a Shirt Clip and a Warranty cum User Manual.

Technical Specifications
The technical specifications listed below are as per the retail box. They are quite similar to the specifications of Brainwavz M2.
Design & Quality
The Brainwavz M3 earphones sport a unique housing design which catches the attention as soon as you take them out of the box. The housing design seems quite odd or weird in a way as per me but according to Brainwavz, this unique housing design is capable of delivering exceptional clarity and balance sound across the lows, highs, and mids.
The housing is made up of the combination of metal and plastic. The housing has a large hump which makes it odd looking but helps the earphones stay in the ear. The earphones are available in Black color and the build quality is decent. The cable is of twisted tangle-free type, similar to Brainwavz M2 & M1 cable but I can see some improvement here. The earphones are very light in weight and comfortable in ears.
Audio Quality
Looking at the specs which are similar to the Brainwavz M2, I was not expecting much from the M3 earphones but I was taken by surprise. The Brainwavz M3 were so much good sounding than the M2 in my opinion, the audio was balanced, punchy and natural.
To break it down, the Lows were decent and not at all overpowering, the M3 IEMs are more towards balanced sound rather being a bass oriented earphones, but that does not mean that the bass lacked detail, the bass was punchy and good enough for a lot of genres. The Mids were actually very nice, the vocals sounded clear & natural, the tones throughout were decent. The Highs were again decent, good enough for a lot of people, the instruments sounded very good, the high notes in the music were decent throughout.
The dynamic drivers deliver a decent soundstage with good depth, width & separation. I tested M3 earphones with lot of different genres and they sounded good for most of them. Overall the audio quality was top-notch & balanced with crisp vocals and good reproduction.
Warranty Information & Price
Just like other Brainwavz premium earphones, Brainwavz M3 comes with Two Years warranty, that is 24 months. Make sure you keep the warranty card in a safe place.
Brainwavz M3 are Priced at Rs.5,399
Available for purchase at Amazon India.
Verdict
Brainwavz M3 are good in terms of build quality but I'm not a fan of twisted type cables and I prefer flat cables over them. The unique housing design might look weird at first, but it is very comfortable & kinda helps keep the earbuds in place. It was good to see so many accessories which Brainwavz supplied with M3 earphones, especially the Hard carrying case, this is something which other brands don't do, hats off to Brainwavz.
The earphones were very light in weight, once you put them on, you won't feel them. If I compare Brainwavz M3 with other Brainwavz earphones which I've tested in the past, the M3 earphones are the clear winner in terms of sound quality. The sound quality was really good if not great, the lows and mids were decent, the vocals were crisp & natural, the highs were average but good enough, the soundstage was deep and wide, good for most of the genres. I'll recommend Brainwavz M3 to people who are looking for a premium earphones with balanced & natural sound & good build quality. Brainwavz M3 comes with a 24-month warranty which is again a plus point.
Overall I'm happy with Brainwavz M3 earphones, they are worth the price and looking at the accessories which come along, it's a pretty good deal. You can go for them and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. So this was my review, I hope you liked it, please let me know in the comments below.
If you want to know the procedure I follow to test the earphones, you can refer to the below paragraph, it contains all the details.
Testing Procedure. To ensure that I can test the earphones on their uppermost limit, I used high-quality audio files & Lossless formats. For MP3's, I used 320KBPS files and for Lossless formats, I used FLAC & WAV files. To squeeze out the best performance out of them, I used custom equalizer settings & tweaked them throughout to test their extreme capability. For mobile listening, I used custom music player (Poweramp) to get more control over the output & to boost the performance. On Laptop, I used iTunes music player & VLC player. Throughout, I used high-quality music files and also tested them on different phones.
