Evidson Audiowear R5 Earphones Review: Metal Body with Flat Cable
Earlier this month, audio equipment manufacturer Evidson launched Audiowear R5 earphones in India with power packed performance & attractive design. We did an article on Evidson Audiowear R5 when they were announced and Since then, I was very eager to get my hands on them and when I finally got the chance I was very excited to share my findings with you guys here, so today I'll be reviewing Evidson Audiowear R5 In-Ear headphones, you can read all my earphone/headphone reviews here.
Coming back to Audiowear R5, The Head of Business Development at Evidson Audio, Mr.Sachin Siraj during the launch commented that; R5 earphones are specially designed for Active Indian Consumers who are looking for style, performance, tangle free experience & mobility. He further added that R5 are very light in weight and are capable of delivering an immersive music experience, today I'll be testing them and we'll find out it R5 are really worth your money or not. Let's begin.
Unboxing Evidson Audiowear R5
Evidson Audiowear R5 earphones came in a transparent plastic box which further contained the R5 In-Ear Headphones and Three pairs of Silicone ear tips in different sizes (Small, Medium & Large) and that's pretty much it, there was nothing else in the box. I was expecting a carry pouch or something like that but it wasn't there. You can watch the unboxing video on our YouTube channel.

Design & Built Quality
Evidson Audiowear R5 are really good when it comes to design, they are very trendy & premium in appearance, something the young generation will like. The housing is made up of metal which comes with glossy finish & Evidson branding on both the earbuds. The color of the housing is Metallic silver & the cable is black colored. The earbuds are very small in size but sit comfortably in ears, by default the medium sized ear tips are installed on them, but you can change the size according to your need. The cable on Audiowear R5 is flat & 1.2 meters in length, it is tangle-free and seems durable. There is a microphone with in-line remote control. The 3.5 mm jack provided is gold plated and compatible with iOS, Android & other devices. The earbuds are properly labeled with L & R so that you can plug them correctly in your ears. Overall the design & built quality is excellent, the design somewhat looks similar to Mi Piston earphones, but Evidson Audiowear R5 has a feel of its own.
Audio Quality
When it comes to audio quality, I test the each and every earphone seriously with as many devices I can, with high-quality audio files & different audio formats. I also experiment with different equalizer settings & custom audio players etc. to ensure highest quality output from the earphones. Evidson Audiowear R5 went through the same tests and performed beyond my expectations. The audio was very good for an earphone under this price segment. The bass output was average, not at all overpowering but a bit on the lower side, maybe it seemed like that to me because I'm a bit used to Extra Bass earphones, but still the bass on the R5 was decent. The vocals sounded amazing in my opinion, they were clear & natural. The highs & mids were again decent. I noticed that the earphones performed exceptionally well when using custom equalizer setting & custom music players like Poweramp (mobile) or VLC/iTunes (Desktop). The correct ear tip size is also important for a perfect seal, the default ones seem to fit me perfectly, but I'll suggest experimenting with different sizes and see which one feels good to you. Overall the audio quality was good, the bass was decent, the mids & highs were good but lacking some detail, the vocals were also decent.

Microphone & Remote
The microphone is located on the R side of the cable & comes with a Three button In-line remote control, which can be used for controlling your music or for hands-free calling experience. The remote comes with a Play/Pause button, Volume Up button & Volume Down button. The Play/Pause button can also be used for skipping tracks Next or Previous.
When Listening to Music.
Play/Pause = Middle Button Tap once.
Next Track = Middle Button Tap Twice.
Previous Track = Middle Button Tap Three times.
Volume Up = Tap First Button Once.
Volume Down = Tap Last Button Once.
During Hands-Free Calls.
Receive Call = Middle Button Tap Once.
End Call = Middle Button Tap Once.
The microphone works well during calls, the person on the other end is able to hear your voice clearly with no disturbance. The microphone performance deteriorates a bit in light windy condition but that's not a big issue since a lot of earphone mics behave in a similar way in such conditions. The package comes with three different sized ear tips, make sure you have proper sized ear tips pair installed, that will help you achieve perfect noise isolation state & immersive music experience.
Warranty & Pricing

Conclusion
Evidson Audiowear R5 are really something, before writing this review, I personally tested them for a week, with my primary smartphone & iPod. To ensure high-resolution feedback, I used High-quality audio files & lossless formats. The MP3 files used with R5 earphones were 320 kbps files and for lossless formats, I used FLAC & WAV files on different media devices with different settings. I continuously tweaked equalizer settings to get the perfect level of sound & uppermost limit of the earbuds.
After all that tests, I can conclude that Evidson Audiowear R5 are an excellent pair of earphones, they deliver what they promise. The design is stylish & premium, the tangle-free cable does its job well, the overall built of the earphone is durable & light weight.
